Thanksgiving....

Our new house survived Thanksgiving and so did we! I am not a fan of cooking big meals, but it was nice not to have to travel this year. I decided to prepare as much as I could in the days leading up to Thanksgiving, and it really helped reduce my stress. I made freezer mashed potatoes and cooked the stuffing in the crock pot (very moist!), we fried the turkey, and as we were eating I put a chocolate chip cookie pie in the oven!

We have now turned our attention to Christmas! The tree is up, although an artificial one since we won't be here for Christmas. I bought the live garland today to decorate the front porch. I will post pictures as soon as it is all put up.

The week in review.....

I got my results back from the scan of my gallbladder, all is working well! So now we know that the kidney stones (3 of them!) are causing my back pain. I am going to wait till 2011 to have anything done about them. I really do not want to have a stint in while we are on vacation.
Big Daddy and I spent the weekend taking a class to become certified foster care parents with the hope of eventually adopting again. We have taken similar training in NY, so it was a tad boring, but always eye opening. Delaney spent the weekend entertaining her Uncle Jon, she had fun dragging him to the Rain Forest Cafe and the movie theatre.
We are looking foward to the rest of Big Daddy's family coming for Thanksgiving!

There is always a birthday being celebrated at our house!

D is celebrating a birthday of one of her baby dolls almost everyday it seems. It is so cute to watch her wrap a silly present (today it was a bib), bake a cake, make party hats, and sing to her babies. Sometimes Big Daddy and I have to join in the fun. It makes me happy to see her enjoy every single one of their birthdays, and hopefully this is because she enjoys her birthday and how we make her feel extra special on her day.

The Painted Pot

Delaney had fun making some Christmas presents at a local pottery place. We can't wait to see what they look like after they come out of the kiln.

Sick child and fresh fruits and veggies!

Poor D was sick today, woke up with a not so good feeling in her belly. It couldn't have come on a worse day, as today was her day to bring snack, be the helper of the day, and bring in the guessing can. I was also going to spend the afternoon volunteering at her school. Oh the best laid plans......

We did get our first Door to Door Organic order! It was so nice to get a box full of fruits and veggies without having to leave the house!!

Halloween

We spent Halloween weekend painting our guest room, finishing it 10 minutes before the start of trick or treating! Just need to hang some pictures and find some pillows and the room will be all ready for our Thanksgiving guests.
