Easter Fun

We have had a lot of fun the last couple of weeks attending Easter Egg Hunts and birthday parties! D had fun finding eggs with her MOMs group friends, and then at church with her friend Matthew, and finally at school. Thankfully she didn't care too much about the candy inside!

D was treated to a movie and swimming with daddy on Thursday and Friday. She then got to see the Easter Bunny on Saturday, as well as attended a friend's birthday party at a local gymnastics place.

Nathan and I had fun playing the Easter Bunny! We got a little more creative this year, creating rabbit tracks from the sliding glass door and into the living room where her basket was hidden. D was surprised in the morning to see the mess, she was waiting to see if I got mad. She had fun finding her eggs and her basket.

We will be doing some travelling the next few weekends! We are looking forward to seeing family and also to go back to Disney!

This post is brought to you by the letter D and the number 5!

Our sweet daughter is 5! It seems like just yesterday we met her birth parents and started filling out the mountain of paperwork involved in adoption. We have loved every minute of being her parents and look forward to all there is to come.

D celebrated her actual birthday by having a friend over. We went out to lunch and stopped for some ice cream, then the girls were able to come back to our house and play for a couple of hours. When Big Daddy got home we ordered subs (D's choice) and let her open her presents from us and the ones she got in the mail from family and friends.

We had her big birthday celebration with her friends yesterday. We had a pool party at a local community center. We had a great turnout, 18 kids! They splashed and played in the pool for a little over an hour and then we had a party room to enjoy pizza and cake. I think everyone had a great time!

D also got to spend the weekend with her Grandma, Grandpa and GG Grandma.

Update on life in Michigan.....

What have we been up to?

Finishing up our back-splash! It looks amazing!

Hiring a painter (as we are sick of painting!)! He has been painting away since last Monday, hopefully he will be done by Wednesday. He is painting the ceiling, trim, and walls in our great room, foyer, upstairs hallway, and kitchen. He finished the great room last week and it looks great. We found window valances to match the color of the walls and the room darkening curtains we already had.

D has been busy with school and swimming! And she is gearing up for her big 5th birthday. She decided she wanted a swimming party, so we invited all her school friends and a few other friends to come swim with her at a local community center on Sunday.

Hoping and wishing for Spring!! I think it may finally be here, 60 and rainy today. April showers bring May flowers, right?

It is D's Spring Break from school.....not sure what we are going to do all week! We hit the pool and went and bought some pink sand for her sand table.
