Happy New Year!

A belated Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.

We traveled to Orlando on Christmas Eve for a 10 day vacation. It was one of the best Christmas' we have had. It was so much fun to watch Delaney swim and play outside on Christmas day. We had the pleasure of spending time with our good friends who were also in Orlando for Christmas, as well as my parents and brother. (We missed the rest of the family!)
Christmas day we spent hanging around the resort we were staying at (we moved to a different condo on the 26th). Nathan and the big kids played miniature golf while D and Grandpa swam in the pool. We enjoyed some crafts in the activity room as well. We had Christmas brunch at the Golden Corral (not as bad as it sounds) and spent time in Downtown Disney.

The rest of the week we spent visiting Celebration (such a cute town), Vero Beach (we met my Aunt and her boyfriend), Blue Springs (love the manatee!), Silver Springs (what a great park to wander around), as well as Disney. Of course Magic Kingdom was D's favorite place. We got a great deal on tickets with my dad's military discount, 4 day park hopper for $138. We only used 2 days this trip and have already booked a return trip in May! We love having something to look forward to!

Fresh Paint

We have finally finished our little bathroom project! Big Daddy spent days trying to fix the ceiling (we had seams coming through), he finally got it almost perfect. We love our paint color choice (a shade lighter then our old NY dining room, my favorite room in that house!), and look forward to finding new towels and mats as well as some wall decor.
My mom arrives tomorrow! And then we are off to the South on Friday!! Praying for temperatures in the 60's with maybe a few bonus 70's!
Merry Christmas to all!

Busy Season has begun......

It has been a crazy, busy few weeks!

Our new counter tops were installed, and we love them! We finally decided on tile (natural stone and glass tiles) backsplash and have ordered them. We are hoping they will be here before we leave for Florida so we can get the kitchen done and back in order.
D visited Santa and let him know that she wanted an American Girls doll (she actually said she wanted two, but one of them was for her friend Maddie). Thankfully this present is bought and will be headed to Florida in Santa Grandpa's van.

I spent last Thursday in D's class helping with gingerbread houses, it was a lot of fun! She has a great class and wonderful teachers. The kids all get along really well.

Since we couldn't work on the backsplash this weekend, Nathan got our ceiling painted in our bathroom and the holes filled and sanded on the walls so we can get that painted this week.

We were hit with a snowstorm on Sunday.....not sure of the totals, but enough to cancel school today. D and I played outside for awhile yesterday, building a snowman and sledding down our side yard. It was a lot of fun, but now we are both feeling icky today.

Thanksgiving....

Our new house survived Thanksgiving and so did we! I am not a fan of cooking big meals, but it was nice not to have to travel this year. I decided to prepare as much as I could in the days leading up to Thanksgiving, and it really helped reduce my stress. I made freezer mashed potatoes and cooked the stuffing in the crock pot (very moist!), we fried the turkey, and as we were eating I put a chocolate chip cookie pie in the oven!

We have now turned our attention to Christmas! The tree is up, although an artificial one since we won't be here for Christmas. I bought the live garland today to decorate the front porch. I will post pictures as soon as it is all put up.

The week in review.....

I got my results back from the scan of my gallbladder, all is working well! So now we know that the kidney stones (3 of them!) are causing my back pain. I am going to wait till 2011 to have anything done about them. I really do not want to have a stint in while we are on vacation.
Big Daddy and I spent the weekend taking a class to become certified foster care parents with the hope of eventually adopting again. We have taken similar training in NY, so it was a tad boring, but always eye opening. Delaney spent the weekend entertaining her Uncle Jon, she had fun dragging him to the Rain Forest Cafe and the movie theatre.
We are looking foward to the rest of Big Daddy's family coming for Thanksgiving!
